Perfect for the Boyfriend: Homemade Cookie Gift Box

Ladies, it’s pretty common that the way to a guy’s heart is through his stomach. Show your beau you care by giving him something to satisfy his sweet tooth: all-natural, homemade cookies in a variety of flavors (Chocolate Chunk, White Chocolate Macadamia, Double Chocolate Chip, and Oatmeal Raisin). Best of all, purchasing these delicious treats contributes supplies for one weekend bag for a hungry child in the Chicago area.

Great for the individual who has everything else—and either loves to munch or enjoys a long commute to and from work—these individually-wrapped snackable treats are mouthwateringly sweet. With Chocolate Covered Raisins, Deluxe Mixed Nuts, Dried Fruit Cocktail Mix and a Mardi Gras Mix, any working man or woman will love selecting an item from this box to satisfy a craving. This gift donates an entire weekend bag to a hungry child in need.

Perfect for Sharing: Homemade Muffins & Starbucks Coffee Gift Box

Are you one of those couples that would rather spend time together on Valentine’s Day than buy each other gifts? We’ve got the perfect selection for you two to share. Get cozy, break out your favorite romantic comedy (you know, comedy for him, romance for her!) and cuddle up with the delectable treats in this box: all-natural homemade muffins (Banana Nut, Blueberry, Double Chocolate Chip, Lemon Poppy Seed) and two types of Starbucks coffee. Even better, this gift provides supplies for a weekend bag to help one hungry child in Chicago get the food he or she so desperately needs.

Perfect for Showing Someone You Care: Small Bakery Gift

Whether you’re picking out something for a friend, trying to show that special someone that you care or hoping to surprise your office assistant with a Valentine’s treat, this gift is the perfect option. All-natural, homemade muffins (Banana Nut, Blueberry, Double Chocolate Chip, Lemon Poppy Seed) and cookies (Chocolate Chunk, White Chocolate Macadamia, Double Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raise) tell your giftee that he or she matters. You can never go wrong with fresh baked goodies! This gift even contributes supplies for a weekend bag of food for a hungry child in need.

Perfect for the Couple: Cheese, Crackers, Chocolate and Wine Ambience Gift Box

Do you know a couple that’s just too sweet not to buy for this Valentine’s Day? Help them celebrate a romantic evening in with this gift box full of deliciously savory appetizers. From cheeses (Havarti with Pesto Cheese and Onion and Chive Cheese) and crackers (34 Degrees Natural Crackers and Life of Provence Mini Party Toasts) to chocolate (Theo Organic Fair Trade Chocolate Bars) and wine (either a Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay), and topped off with a soy candle in a recycled wine bottle, your favorite couple will be positively swooning over this gift. Not to mention, the gift gives a whole weekend bag to a hungry child!

4 Charitable Holiday Gift Ideas in Honor of #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday, a national and worldwide campaign to create a national day of giving to start off the holiday season by celebrating and supporting charitable organizations and nonprofits.

Started by the United Nations Foundation and 92d Street Y, #GivingTuesday finds a way to give back and promote positive actions in the holiday season. After all of the rush of Thanksgiving sales, Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, #GivingTuesday is a breath of fresh air that does the opposite—it promotes giving back to the community, donating to charitable organizations, volunteering your time and giving wherever possible.

In celebration of #GivingTuesday, we’ve decided double the weekend bags provided for every online order placed on November 29, 2016.  Additionally, we have rounded up four great holiday gift ideas from companies that donate a portion of their proceeds to charities.

            1. Esperos Foldover Purse in Oliver - $225.00
            2. Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness - Be Brave Pillow - $35.00

What to Write in Cards for Gifts: Sympathy & Condolences

June 07, 2016 by Jamie Pritscher
Tags:
So, the That’s Caring  gift you’ve chosen is meant as a means of offering your Condolences. These are usually times of less-than-happiness, and you want to make sure that the gift and words that accompany it say exactly just how much you sympathize with the recipient in his or her time of distress. Maybe your cousin’s friend passed away suddenly, or a coworker-friend was recently let go. Perhaps someone just found out that he or she, or a member of his or her family, is ill. Maybe it’s much less serious—maybe your friend’s significant other ended their relationship, or a prized possession was lost or stolen. Your gift has been chosen, and now you’re looking for just the right words to write in the card. We can help you out!

Standard Condolences Notes
Often, people struggle with what to write in their condolence cards because they worry that their words will bring up more emotions than they will help to alleviate. In these situations, condolences are best kept simple and thoughtful, but without too much extra information. Try any of these the next time you need to write a condolences note:
  • “I’m so sorry to hear about [enter occasion here], [enter name here]. Thinking of you!”
  • “I’m so sorry to hear about your father’s passing, Joan. Thinking of you!”
  • “I’m so sorry to hear that you were let go, Erica. Thinking of you!”
  • “I’m so sorry to hear about the break in, Suzanne. Thinking of you!”
Other good comments that can be used in the same manner include:
  • “Sorry for your loss, [enter name here]!”
  • “Keep your head up, [enter name here]! Things will look up soon!”
  • “Thinking of you in your time of struggle, [enter name here]!”
  • “You’re in my thoughts, [enter name here]!”
Formal Condolences Notes
When you are in a situation where you need to offer condolences alongside a gift to someone who is a work or educational superior, formal acquaintance, a boss, a professor or teacher, or in any situation when you’re addressing someone using a formal title, use a more formal condolences note. These should be kept simple, use a formal title, and be to the point:
  • “My condolences, Mr. (or Mrs. Or Ms.) [enter last name here], on [enter occasion here]!”
  • “My condolences, Mr. O’Malley, on your loss.”
  • “My condolences, Mrs. Tyler, on your recent accident.”
Other useful phrases include:
  • “I’m sorry for your loss, [enter name with formal title here].”
  • “So sorry to hear about your [enter occasion here], [enter name with formal title here].”
  • There is some overlap between well wishes and condolences. The following may be used as well:
  • “Best of luck with your upcoming [enter event here], [enter name with formal title here].”
  • “Wishing you the best on your [enter event here], [enter name with formal title here].”
Informal Condolences Notes
These notes are perfect for telling a close friend that you’re thinking of him or her in his or her time of need, or expressing your sorry that a coworker lost her job. Use a less formal Condolences note when you want to address close friends, friends, family, coworkers with which you are amiable, colleagues with whom you enjoy working, and other “friendly” situations.
  • “I’m sorry about [enter occasion here], [enter name here]!”
  • “I’m sorry about your loss, Nicole!”
  • “Sorry to hear about your [enter occasion here], [enter name here]! Things will look up soon!”
  • “Sorry to hear about your lost job, Shawn! Things will look up soon!”
  • “Sorry to hear about your [enter occasion here], [enter name here]! Get well soon!”
  • “Sorry to hear about your time in the hospital, Matthew! Get well soon!”
When All Else Fails
Still not sure your note will fit the recipient of your gift? You can never go wrong with the ultimate form of a simple Condolences note:
  • “My condolences!” – [enter sender’s name here]
  • “My condolences!” – Howard
  • “Thoughts and prayers!” – Jessica
  • “Get well soon!” – Elizabeth
  • “Speedy recovery!” – Grandma & Grandpa
